Paint companies announce new color swatches

It’s always fun to predict the next home fashions, and when it comes to real estate, many owners love to know the colors in vogue for 2024.

Whether renovating a new property or planning a home facelift, color choices can be swayed by what the paint manufacturers decide is this year’s fashion.

For 2024, blue is a popular choice, leaving behind the greens and ochre reds that offered connectivity to the environment.

Be dramatic

The Color of the Year for top manufacturer Benjamin Moore is Blue Nova – a blue-violet.  At launch, the company partnered with the aerospace campaign Blue Origin to represent the future. It says Blue Nova matches with a range of contrasting colors, even orange.

Bit of spice

The Behr color for 2024 is called Cracked Pepper. It’s a good description and is recommended as an “anchor color”. It can be used for the interior or exterior. It would also be a striking choice for baseboards and interior doors. You can only buy it at Home Depot.

Got the blues

Called Upward, this light blue is perfect for a coastal home. Manufacturer Sherwin-Williams claims it “brings to life that carefree, sunny day energy that elicits a notion of contentment and peace”.

No limits

The Glidden choice for 2024 is Limitless, a honey beige hue that it says is “anything but yellow”. However, it looks like a toned-down yellow trying to be a neutral color. Which isn’t to say it isn’t attractive. It’s an interesting choice for a country kitchen or even a ceiling.

Stay calm

A warm, baby-blue color called Thermal is the selection of manufacturer C2 Paint. The company describes it “as a punchy blue” that’s “poised for adventure and brimming with hope”.

Feeling blue

Valspar is promoting Renew Blue for 2024, claiming it to be “inspired by fleeting elements like fog, mist, clouds, and glacier lakes”. It’s another attempt to give a room a “feeling of balance and calm”.
