Six Fall colors capturing our imagination

If you’ve been spending the Summer considering how to give your home a refresh or the best way to prepare the property for sale, then a new coat of paint may work wonders for you.

Updating the color schemes of your exterior and interior is one of the most effective ways of enhancing your home.

If you are looking for some inspiration, check out online these five colors that are popular this Fall.

Pretty in pink

Perhaps influenced by the Barbie movie, interior designers are discussing the benefits of giving your home a facelift with hints of pink. Farrow & Ball’s shade of Sulking Room Pink is easy on the eye and not the candy pink that’s the hallmark of the world’s favorite doll. Glamor from Sherwin-Williams is an alternative.

Brown sugar

Possibly the last color you might expect to be listed. However, interior designers are sweet on various hues, including Hasbrouck Brown by Benjamin Moore. Brown is a tempting choice as days become shorter and winter sets in. Tones from chocolate to light mushroom browns are riding high in the fashion stakes.

Color Purple

Like brown, many might have thought purple peaked in the 70s. But it’s on the way back, according to interior designers. Two excellent choices are Expressive Plum from Sherwin-Williams and Mauve Desert by Benjamin Moore. You have various fashionable selections, from hints of lavender to rich purples. Ideal for particular rooms, such as a study or a second bathroom.

Rich Red

If you’re looking for a different vibe, you’ll be on the cutting edge of fashion by choosing a terracotta red for a feature wall. It’s not a million miles away from ochre, one of last year’s favorites.

Blues and greens

Mixing these colors is proving popular this fall. It’s a neat transition from the greens and ochre reds that have been popular in the past few years, representing the back-to-nature themes that so many interior designers have embraced.
