Tech icon and actors list luxury homes

Two big Hollywood names, along with the most famous of all the tech sector mega-rich, are headlining the real estate market at the moment.

The Beverly Hills home of iconic sex symbol Raquel Welch, who died in February last year aged 83, has just been put on the market for $3.95 million.

It’s a beautiful Mediterranean villa that she purchased in 2009 for $2.5 million.

Built in 1998, it was designed to give the appearance that it was many years older. With five bedrooms and six bathrooms, it has magnificent gardens featuring citrus trees that enhance the European coastal vibe.

With three floors, her home is secluded in the expensive Glen Centre area of LA. However, it is within striking distance of the neighborhood shops. The home is a rare find, according to the agents, because of its secluded aspect.

Another Hollywood star in the market right now is Gary Sinise, who is asking $7.2 million for his Southern California spread.

The Emmy-winning actor bought the 28-acre property for $5.25m in 2014 and has made several renovations since then, including a spectacular outdoor kitchen.

The residence has eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms with views of the Channel Islands and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Within a gated community, Sinise’s property features 24-foot ceilings in some parts of the house and a double glass door entry.

Tech icon Bill Gates is well-known for owning a significant portfolio of properties and one of them is coming onto the market: a four-bedroom home in Medina, Washington.

He’s priced it at $4.9m, having snapped it up back in 2003 for just $1.31m.

Built in 1954, it has an incredible view of Lake Washington with private beach access.
